Atty. Angeles’ primary areas of practice are litigation, labor and employment, and immigration.
Prior to joining the Firm, Atty. Angeles was a Senior Associate in Martinez Vergara Gonzalez & Serrano and was part of the aforementioned practice groups since 2012. In 2019, he co-authored the Legal 500 3rd Edition – Employment and Labour Law Comparative Guide for the Philippines.
In 2016, he took his Masters in Sports Management and Global Sports Law (LLM), a double-degree program offered by Columbia University and Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE). As part of the program, Atty. Angeles worked as a legal intern in the Legal and Disciplinary Department of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Malaysia in 2017.
Having been mentored by the top international sports lawyers from the National Basketball Association, National Basketball Association Players’ Association, National Collegiate Athletic Association, Court of Arbitration for Sport, and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), he was engaged by Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPro) to be its external counsel in the Philippines. Aside from helping establish the Filipino Professional Footballers Association (FPFA), he was also tasked to help implement its programs in the Philippines.
Atty. Angeles is accredited both as an arbitrator and mediator specializing in sports related disputes, and is the only FIFA-approved mediator in Asia.
Atty. Angeles is also currently a class auditor in Columbia University School of Professional Studies’ Sports Management Program.
Atty. Angeles obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila Law School in 2011 and his AB Political Science degree from the same university in 2007. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2012.
